DanChurchAid (DCA) is looking for a Head of Programme (HoP) to lead and drive our humanitarian portfolio in South Sudan.

Job & Program Overview
The HoP will lead the development and updates of the country programme strategy, theory of change, and related fundraising strategy.
DCA’s programme in South Sudan currently focuses on Protection, with particular attention to Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and Child Protection. The portfolio also includes Shelter and Non-Food Item (NFI) assistance to support displaced and vulnerable people.
Multipurpose Cash Assistance (MPCA) is a key modality for delivering flexible and dignified humanitarian support. Furthermore, DCA is actively engaged in Peacebuilding and Humanitarian Mine Action to address the root causes of conflict and enhance community safety.
The programme is also in the process of expanding into Food Security and Livelihoods to promote longer-term resilience and self-reliance, where you will also play a significant role.
In partnership with the Program Managers, the HoP will manage and promote project progress and ensure quality across programme teams, grants management, and MEAL departments. The HoP will also introduce and follow up on systems for overall project oversight, including tools to monitor outputs, reporting timelines, and M&E plans. Additionally, the HoP will provide technical backstopping to programme, grants, and MEAL teams as needed.
Your contribution is appreciated, and your key responsibilities will be to:
- Lead strategy development and ensure high-quality programme delivery.
- Supervise programme staff and provide strong technical and managerial leadership.
- Oversee project design, MEAL systems, compliance, and quality assurance.
- Coordinate proposal development and donor reporting.
- Represent DCA with donors, partners, and key stakeholders.
- Strengthen partnerships with national NGOs in line with DCA’s localisation agenda.
As a person we expect that you resonate with our purpose, and we imagine you have:
- Master’s degree in humanitarian/development studies or relevant field.
- Minimum 3 years’ senior leadership in humanitarian settings (HoP, Area Manager).
- Proven success with donor engagement and proposal development.
- Strong knowledge of MEAL, CHS, donor compliance (BHA, ECHO, OCHA).
- Are fluent in English.
- Familiarity with the South Sudan context is an advantage.
