International MW Operator/Mechanic, South Sudan, Field based
DanChurchAid (DCA) is looking for an experienced Mine Wolf Operator/Mechanic to join the Humanitarian Response and Mine Action (HRMA) Programme in South Sudan.
Who we are
DCA South Sudan seeks to support community based and integrated deliverables through HMA activities such as EOD, Survey and Clearance, risk education, livelihood, and conflict prevention and peacebuilding activities.
DCA South Sudan has an annual turnover of app. 16 million USD, incl. the MA Programme, with a large and multi-disciplinary team based in South Sudan implementing through a nexus approach of Humanitarian, Development and Peace programming. DCA was established in 1922 and is today one of the larger Danish humanitarian nongovernmental organizations working to assist the poorest of the poor.
Job Overview
The MW Operator/Mechanic will provide technical support and capacity strengthening to the Mechanical Operators in the field and ensure maximum productivity by minimising down days.
The MW Operator/Mechanic refers daily to the DCA South Sudan Operations Manager, who has overall oversight of the MA programme in South Sudan.
Your contribution is appreciated, and your key responsibilities will be:
- Taking the lead in the repairs and maintenance of the Mine Wolf 240, including supporting heavy transportation equipment – trucks, trailers and mobile/static workshops, Toyota Land cruisers and maintenance equipment.
- Operating and overseeing mechanical clearance operations with the LN operator.
- Assisting colleagues in store and stock control of all assets under the HRMA programme
- Assisting in transportation of the Mechanical Team’s equipment to and from their Areas of Operation, as tasked by the Operations Manager
- Responsible for the management of National Mechanics /Operators involved in operating and maintaining of the Mechanical Team and their supporting vehicles/workshops/Generators
- Implementation of a maintenance and repair schedule to ensure that the Mini Minewolf machine, and support equipment’s are serviceable, at all times as per the DCA requirements
- Any other duties required to fulfil the role
Your Profile

- You have documented experience and qualifications working with Mine Wolf machines including operating, maintenance and repairing.
- You have experience in capacity strengthening of colleagues

- Fluency in English is required
- You are flexible and able to adapt to a multi-cultural environment and respect diversity
- Experience working from South Sudan is an added value
